this link showing who the rest of the world favors in the U.S. presidential election. This poll done by BBC news shows that 21 countries would prefer Barack Obama. The only country that would choose Mitt Romney is Pakistan. What do you guys think about the graphs?

I would definitely like more information about how this poll was conducted. The first thought raised in my mind was "do people even know who Mitt Romney is?", outside of the U.S. that is. I generally only know who is running for office abroad if they are the current the president who I already have some familiarity with. Very rarely will I know of other candidates unless something super controversial is going on. That being said I think looking at this as an American democrat it is easy to say that of course many countries like Obama, but we should be asking whether these countries are choosing Obama because they don't know Romney at all.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Beth. The difference between the two candidates is extremely high so it is highly likely that people don't know much about Romney. Furthermore, Obama has been in the news for more than four years, so he is popular among the international audience. I am also interested to know whether people in Pakistan know Romney or they hate Obama so that the other person will win.
