First Video in the Series: Jobs

So, its not my week but I had to share; if anyone remembers the video from Econ4, the one declaring that we needed to have a new discussion in America about our ineffectual government and policies, they have now released the first video in the series. The video tackles the issue of job creation head on and with a lot of solid, economically supported ideas. This is well worth a watch

  1. That was a really interesting video to watch. There is definitely some income inequality going on still and it was kind of scary to see all the connections to the great depression. We do not seem to be on a good track right now. Although it does seem that we are starting to create jobs now, slowly though, but that is a good sign. There are a lot of things that need to be taken care of in the economy and more jobs and income equality will most likely help the economy drastically.

  2. Wow! This is a very powerful and informative video. I really enjoyed the map of the United States split between the top 1% and everyone else. According to the video, the top 1%, 400 people, own half the U.S.’s money. The video further explains that demand is low because people don't have enough money to spend and the super wealthy have so much money that they end up with high savings after consumption. The last time the U.S. saw such a disparity in wealth was in the 1920, right before The Great Depression. The video’s bottom line is to increases taxes on the wealth, and I would have to agree.
