This was an interesting article about Detroit voting this year and how so many people showed up to vote this year. Why was there such a good turnout this year? Can Detroit do anything to get an even better turnout in years to come?
Aaron thanks for shedding light on Detroit! It is always very exciting to see articles like this. Detroit showed the highest voting rate in 32 years! Looks like people were very engaged in politics this year. Detroit had a lot on line in this elections season. Lets not forget, the Big 3 auto companies were bailed out during President Obama’s last term. This saved Detroit in any way Detroit could be saved. It is also nice to see that Detroit is finally taking efforts to be more accurate when it comes to the rate of voters.
Yes Bianca is right, it's heartening to see improved instances of government oversight and honesty. We all know that Detroit has had problems with this before, mostly in individuals who abuse the system, but to see the institution as a whole working to improve the area is promising for the continued recovery of the city.
