  1. I think it's really interesting that our representatives are not thinking about the global impact of this decision to shut down the government. There are far reaching consequences that could deteriorate the global economy even further and stunt developing countries. I also read this morning that there is hope of a compromise between the senate republicans and democrats. So that may be a starting point for compromise all the way through.

    1. Why would they care about other countries when they don't even give a damn about their own people?

  2. i agree with colin. it is scary to think what the repercussions of this impasse can be. my concerns for developing countries rises because this not only stunts the global economy but also the growth of poorer countries. i see the U.S. as a big bully getting a kick out of shutting down the government

    1. I like your line calling the US a big bully and feel like it fits well since the United States is connected to numbers of people that depend on us for a variety of resources

  3. “We recognize that the United States is the anchor of the international financial system. With the deepest and most liquid financial markets, when risk rises, the flight to safety and to quality brings investors to U.S. markets. But the United States cannot take this hard-earned reputation for granted.” Couldn't agree more !
