In two weeks we reach the debt limit and it as important that this be addressed. Given that I think the government would need to be open by then, hence this shutdown will not last longer than what most people think. I see the Republicans giving in and coming back to the table for discussion. Everyone, I mean from both parties, realizes that the economy will be shuttered.
As the shutdown continues, it seems that republicans are realizing they are becoming increasingly unpopular with their tactics--I don't think they'll risk being blamed for the shutdown AND the cliff

ReplyDeleteExactly as stated in another article in the blog that it was a battle they cannot win because they are fighting with the president.
ReplyDeleteI really believe the Congress will raise the debt ceiling before the October 17th deadline.
