Let the people choose--a key tenant of democracy. It may be working against Romney (see link). If this were a state race, every ten years, redistricting occurs. This is where new voting districts are chosen (usually by the political party then in power). Then representatives run out of these districts until the next census. So...let the people choose sort of.
With the redistricting by the party in power does not really imply democracy. It is interesting to see how easy it is for Obama to get re-elected it seems and that Romney can not falter at all or he is pretty much out. The process obviously has its holes as does any procedure but this doesn't even seem to be close at this point. I don't know how you could exactly figure a fair way to redistrict every 10 years but letting the party in power doing it, they will clearly give themselves every advantage they can as we have been talking about corruption the past couple weeks it seems. It is a faulty system at times but at this point, this is the only way to make our voices, as the people of the country, heard.
