Not saying that Galt's Gulch is particularly brilliant or anything, but it sounds like their main problem was Chile's confusing system of land/water rights and limitations on selling small plots of land. I am also a little confused over how by buying some land in Chile they're supposed to be exempt from war, taxes, and regulations?
I am also confused when reading this article. I think this is mechanistic view of the government when the individual is at the center stage. Unregulated capitalism is an unavoidable consequence of no government regulation that leads to real economic issues. The impact of the government on the allocation of national resources should be increased to fix the problem that Chile is facing.
