This just worries me. It still seems as though the government is more concerned with their corporate backers rather than the people that they were elected to represent. I think that this is why people are so apt to see the government as a necessary evil rather than a system that can be used to benefit the people.
Definitely to the necessary evil part. It would literally be a catastrophe if we default. Guess we'll see what happens...
More than likely the sides will come to an agreement at the last second to delay everything like they usually do. Nobody wants to take responsibility for anything, at the risk of constituents' disapproval. But that tactic will only work so long...
The president needs forcefully to say 'enough' to the House Republicans. We are all tired of 40 House Members who rarely show up to work, determining the fate of our budgets, our military, our poor, our elderly and our environment.
