Tongue in cheek look at different schools of thought in Economics

There are lots of blogs out there that are written by economists or those interested in economics.  I read a lot of them (not all the time but every now and again).  I think the different schools of thought are very important today because macroeconomic realities have changed since the Great Recession began.  Eventually, we will see a new kind of "mainstream" theory and policy.  Check out the blog entry here.

  1. This blog is strange but funny. I like that the writer can poke fun at all groups while still getting his economic stereotype point across. These stereotypes are the cause of some problems within our society and economy and need to be looked at more closely. The blogger writes that republicans will "appear in response to posts regarding: taxes, politics, taxes". This points to an underlying problem of the wealthy elite doing whatever they can to stay in power and keep their own taxes low. I am wondering if in the 'Marxist' category the second image was actually not available or if it an image of that text?

  2. If you take :"attempts to intimidate its enemies by the puffing up of its Physics Credentials in a strange sort of dominance display" and replace physics credentials with Biofuel and energy advancements, and I think you have my "how I see myself." The blog makes a good point though, it shows a great difference in a viewing paradigm of economic events and theory. Coming from a science background it is at times difficult for me to properly interpret the usefulness of some economic analysis
