Not necessarily related, but must read

Diplomatic tensions between Israel and Iran have come to such a point that the U.S. and its western allies have taken to saber rattling and wargames in the Strait of Hormuz to make a point. This is more than a little scary.  It is easy to imagine that a major war between Israel and Iran would have effects on government and finance, but this kind of conflict could also have incalculable repercussions on most aspects of our lives.

  1. This article focuses on war over oil and territory in the Middle East. Tensions in these areas over these exact matters (as well as religious tension) have been going on for decades, even centuries and seem never ending. As a first generation American, who parents were both born and raised in the Middle East, I was especially drawn to reading this article. This type of struggle and constant violence is the reason why so many talented nationals are leaving or have left the Middle East. Citizens with non-political affiliation are simply fed up with their government constantly at war. I have heard endless stories of war in the Middle East from not only Western media, but also the Arabic new channels as well as personal stories from relatives. On a side note, the Arabic media cover on wars in the Middle East is MUCH different than Western coverage. There is much more detail, less censorship, and more personal interviews covered by the Arabic channels like Al-Jazeera. Bottom line, the Middle East needs major help or war will be never ending the area.

  2. The does look like it is in fact a very valid article in regards to public interest and finance. Assuming that Israel does launch some sort of attack on Iran, gas prices in American will go up and people will not be happy. Gas prices going up will probably be on the small side of America's worries at that point however because some people will be pushing for American involvement to FINALLY help prove that Iran is harboring nuclear weapons. Others will be upset because they do not want the U.S. to get involved in yet another costly war.
